About Wardha
Wardha is located along the western side of the Wardha- Vainganga valley in Maharashtra. The River Wardha lends its name to the district. Wardha has an adjacent city of Sevagram and both were major centers for the Indian Independence Movement, especially as the location for an annual meeting of the Indian National Congress in 1934, and Mahatma Gandhi's Ashram at Sewagram, Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s Paramdham Ashram at Pavnar and the battle(s) of Ashti during the freedom struggle.
